Support for Depression
Self help groups can be very beneficial for depression. Support groups can help to reduce the symptoms of depression and substance abuse, and increase your self esteem to make you feel good about yourself. Your social skills can also be improved if you participate in a Support group. Not all support groups are in person. If you are uncomfortable with going out to seek help with other people, there are also online help groups available, and support can be given by telephone. Support groups can be very helpful to get through the depression. Remember that there are other people out there that are feeling the same thing as you. It could be helpful to share your journey with other people similar to you. You can meet new people, and share different ways to cope with the depression. It is also a good way to receive encouragement and to encourage others to get past the hard times. There is hope to get your life back on track. Although a person may be nervous to share what they are feeling with people that they don't know, it is a good way to listen to others share their experiences. There are many ways to find local help groups like searching the internet or phonebook or newspaper. You're not in this alone, there are many other people out there that are just like you, so support groups could really help to ease the depression.

I agree that it is very important to get help from a support group of some kind to help you through your problem. Talking to people can be the best medicine sometimes.
